The considered paper speaks on object of crime, its concept, classification and significance. The author states that object of crime considerably determines the social nature and social danger of the committed act, and also indicates its direction. The correct qualification of the committed act requires the accurate explanation of the object. Such types of crime objects as general, generic, species and direct objects are discussed. Thereafter, it is reasoned that the significance of the crime object consists in the fact that the object enables to reveal the contents of a specific crime, define the nature of social danger. Moreover, for the proper fixation of the crime object, condition for correct qualification of a crime is necessary. All these, ultimately, involve essential conditions for imposing fair punishment on a perpetrator for the crime committed by him/her.
